This aftershave smells really bad, is oily and doesn’t get absorbed by the skin. It also made my face itchy. I’m pretty sure that the bees would be ashamed to be associated with this.

I find this a great aftershave. Yes, it doesn’t have a wonderful, perfumed smell. It’s not supposed to as it’s fragrance-free. It also has many botanicals. Personally, I have been trying to locate a good fragrance-free aftershave soother and it’s not easy. Many have fragrances as men (and women) have this thing about having to have a smell that precedes them into a room. I want something that will calm my face down after shaving. I also don’t want one that has some sort of alcohol, which can be drying. I used to use a great product from Audrey’s, but they stopped making it (That company inexplicably drops good products from their line.). The term ‘natural’ I care less about. Arsenic is ‘natural’. It occurs in trace amounts naturally in our bodies. Too much and it kills you. Go figure. Lead and mercury are also natural. Organic is nice, if true. Many products with the term ‘organic’ aren’t regulated as such, so can be bogus in that regard, but natural doesn’t mean much to me. I’ll take a synthetic that works, too.
Anyway, I tried this recently and it really fills the bill for me, given the above criteria. YMMV.

Although it smells a bit like the bottom of a sneaker, the smell dissipates quickly. It probably smells that way because it has no perfumes and that is also probably why it doesn’t irritate my skin. I have a hard time finding something that will work well and not irritate my skin and this has done it for me. It works well for me (gets rid of dry skin on my face and around my nose).
